If you’re like me, you are trying to balance fully freaking out with keeping your shit together while the world is seemingly melting all around us.
How are you handling this global crisis? Mentally and physically? Are you still working? If not, do you have intense stress about how you will stay afloat, like me? Our screen printing business is pretty much done for now – the company who develops our film is currently shut down as well, and if we don’t have film, we cannot print new art.
Luckily, we were able to do one last print run with Sam Hunter’s design: “Think Outside The Block”. Shirts were available and should arrive here today – and we can get back on press – at least for this one last project!
This is crazy stressful.
The worst part is watching our president make obvious mistakes, and continue to lie daily to the public. His ineptness has made the situation so much worse than it had to be. I feel every Covid19 death in America can be blamed directly on him. Too harsh? I don’t think so. We need to hold him accountable on all his “hoax” talk.
In the meantime, I’ve been working on my Sacral Chakra Quilt and letting my mind drift in its creativity.
I’m really happy with the ‘Lotus Petal’ templates I made to use with the 10 degree wedge ruler. I’m about to sew the 6 petals together, and I’m hoping the piece lays flat. Then I’ll have to create the background to add beyond the circle.
I love the color orange, so I think this one may be a favorite when all said and done… but I feel like I say that every time I make a quilt!
I’m so grateful to have something to work on, and a house to do it in… I hope to keep both going as long as possible.
