Ooof! There are so many different platforms in this internet world. As I was studying sites for marketing and creating community, I saw a new direction: digital print on demand through a site called Red Bubble.
I’ve avoided sites like that because they also print t-shirts and I saw that as a direct conflict with the shirts we print by hand at Phantom Chicken. However, the art images Gregg has been creating lend themselves really well for digital printing!
Like this piece: Jovian Sunstorm… this one is one of my personal favorites!! This was hand printed, mixing inks on screen. The layers of ink create such a rich palette of color. I get lost looking at this!
What is very exciting is that I can take small parts of this print, edit and create digital print files, and then Red Bubble prints it on all sorts of stuff. This image looks fantastic as a scarf!

We get a small percentage of each sale on that site, so it’s not like it’s going to be a big money-maker… but still – I love the idea of so many different options!
Spoonflower is another digital printing company, but they print on fabric yardage and create wallpaper and wrapping papers. I think these images would look so AMAZING as a fabric pattern! So… that’s what I’ll be working on over the weekend.
I’m also creating a back for my Third Eye Chakra Quilt. Once that’s done, I’ll be doing some basting… and trying to figure out HOW I’m going to quilt that! I have ideas, but I’ll have to do a little planning before I start.
What are you working on today?
